Kangana Ranaut shared an interview video in which she talked about the event and her film Tejas. The event is scheduled to take place on the 24th of October.
The actress Kangana Ranaut is set to become one of the women to sing the role of Ravan Dahan in the Lav Kush Ramleela in Delhi on Dussehra on Tuesday. The event has been around for 50 years. The event, which is held every year in the Red Fort, will be the first time a woman is set to light the idol of the demon King by shooting an arrow, explained Arjun Singh, the president of the Lav Kush Ramleela Committee of Delhi.
In a post on Instagram this morning, Kangana uploaded a clip in which she talked about the occasion and her forthcoming film Tejas. The post’s caption read, “In over 50 years’ of the festival, which takes place each year in Red Fort. Red Fort, this will be the first time that a woman sets the idol of Ravana on fire. Jai Shri Ram.”
Arjun Singh claimed that the committee decided an apparent reference to the Women’s Reservation Bill, which the parliament approved in September. “Be you a film actor or politician, each year we will have a VIP guest at our occasion. In the past few years, we’ve hosted former president Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to do the honors. Film stars like Ajay Devgn as well as John Abraham have been here. In the past, Prabhas did the Ravan Dahan. The first time we have done it in the 50 years of our festival, it will be the woman performing it. Ravan Dahan.
“Lav Kush Ramleela Committee ” also allows women to have equal rights. Women are becoming more involved across all walks of life, but much must be done. The bill will contribute to the growth of the country and the society,” Arjun told PTI. To bring equality into the world, we must eliminate narrow-mindedness, Arjun stated.
“Now women can also torch the idol of Ravan. She can eliminate evil, too. Women ought to be granted the same rights. That’s why we picked Kangana ji to represent us in this regard,” he added. This Women Reservation Bill seeks to ensure that 33 percent of the seats are reserved for women participating in Lok Sabha and state assemblies. The event is scheduled to take place on the 24th of October.
Kangana is working on her film Tejas, which is set to premiere on Friday. The film is composed and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and has Kangana as an Indian Air Force pilot.
